The Humanist Report © 2021

The Humanist Report (THR) is a progressive and democratic socialist political podcast that discusses and analyzes current news events and pressing political issues. Our analyses are guided by humanism, political progressivism and democratic socialism. Each news story we cover is supplemented with thought-provoking, fact-based commentary that aims for the highest level of objectivity. We're not afraid to express secular humanist and ideologically progressive views, and often criticize both mainstream political parties that dominate the American political establishment.

Our primary goal is not to appear neutral, but to remain objective. We do not aim to strike a false balance between preposterous political positions (e.g. climate change is a hoax, homosexuality is a choice, racism doesn’t exist, etc.), but instead strive to maintain ideological consistency across a broad spectrum of political issues. While the content itself is meant to be engaging and informative, our goal is to encourage activism amongst viewers through various means; such as influencing them to call their local representatives and/or vote, signing online petitions, and donating to worthy causes.

While American politics is a primary focus, broader international issues and domestic issues of countries throughout the world might also be discussed. Namely, however, we stay grounded in American political issues and often advocate for institutional change when it comes to campaign finance laws (to get big money out of politics) and electoral reform (to break up the two-party duopoly).

We are not affiliated with a political party, nor are we owned by a corporation. Thus, our views are unadulterated and only hindered by the individual subjectivity of our host(s).

Since our 2015 launch, we've had immense growth, surpassing 200,000 subscribers and 50,000,000 views by the end of 2018. Our show has expanded to iTunes and SoundCloud—and we're looking to venture out even further.
